Dear All,
The main route of transmission of the new influenza A(H1N1) virus seems to be similar to seasonal influenza, via droplets that are expelled by speaking, sneezing or coughing. You can prevent getting infected by avoiding close contact with people who show influenza-like symptoms (try to maintain a distance of about 1 meter) and taking the following measures:
Wash Your Hands at regular intervals-preferably with an alcohol based soap / liquid.
Take care of your health. Get plenty of sleep, be physically active, drink plenty of water, eat nutritious food & increase the intake of fruits.
Avoid crowded areas like multiplexes and malls.
Refrain from touching your own mouth, nose and eyes.
Pay attention to hygiene & regular household cleaning. Use products / disinfectants containing bleach that kill the influenza virus.
Consider carrying an alcohol-based sanitizer when access to clean water and soap is not possible.
The most common question asked:
Should I take an antiviral now just in case I catch the new virus?
No. You should only take an antiviral if your general physician advises you to do so. Individuals should not buy medicines to prevent or fight this new influenza without a prescription, and they should exercise caution in buying anti-virals.
Be Cautious and Be Safe
Warm Regards,
